Gege Pixel font licence agreement
Version 1.0, in force from 10 October 2026.
This is an agreement between L'Atelier Gege LLC ("Gege") and the person or organisation named on the receipt ("you"). By paying for, downloading or installing the Fonts you accept it.
In one sentence: every use needs a paid licence; which one depends on whether the work earns money or promotes a business or organisation, and on the size of the business the work is for.
1. Words used here
- Fonts: the font files named on your receipt (Gege Pixel, Gege Pixel Mini, or both), in every format supplied, and any update Gege sends you.
- Commercial use: any use that earns money, or that promotes or is made for a business, organisation, public body or product. Paid client work is commercial use. So are a company's posts, advertisements, packaging and logo, goods for sale, a paid game or app, and a channel or stream that earns money.
- Personal use: any use that is not commercial use.
- People: everyone who works for a business or organisation, employees and regular contractors alike, counted across the whole legal entity and the entities it controls.
- Finished work: a result in which the Fonts cannot be taken out and used again as fonts, such as an image, a print, a video, or a document with the Fonts embedded for viewing and printing only.
- Client: anyone you make work for.
2. The licences
Your receipt names one of these. Each is granted to you alone, is not exclusive, has no end date, and holds worldwide.
Personal licence
- For one person, on any device that person uses.
- Personal use only. No commercial use of any kind.
Small team licence
- For one person or one business of up to 20 people, for all of them.
- Commercial use in your own work.
- Commercial use in finished work for a client of up to 20 people.
- Use in websites, apps and games that you own, as set out in section 4.
Organisation licence
- For one legal entity of any size, for all its people.
- Commercial use in its own work, and in websites, apps and games that it owns, as set out in section 4.
- A designer, agency or contractor working for the entity may use the Fonts for that entity's work only, under this licence, and must delete them when the work ends.
3. Work for clients
- Work for a client of more than 20 people needs an Organisation licence in the client's name, whoever makes the work. You may buy it on the client's behalf.
- A client receives finished work only. A client who is to have the Fonts themselves, or who will use them in its own website, app or game, needs its own licence.
- A licence covers the business it names. It does not pass to that business's clients, parent, subsidiaries or partners.
4. What a licence allows
Within the limits of your licence you may:
- install the Fonts and set text with them in any software;
- make finished work, including logos and marks, and keep the rights in that work;
- embed the Fonts in documents for viewing and printing;
- serve the Fonts to the pages of a website you own, from your own hosting, as WOFF2;
- include the Fonts in an app or game you own, packed so that a user is not handed the font files as such;
- keep one backup copy.
5. What no licence allows
You may not:
- give, lend, resell, rent, publish or upload the Fonts, or leave them where others can download them, a public repository or a shared drive included;
- sublicense the Fonts or transfer your licence without Gege's written consent;
- change, convert, rename or extend the Fonts, or make another font from them or from their letterforms, whether by editing the files, by tracing or by copying the pixels;
- use the Fonts in a product or service whose users set their own text in them, such as a design tool, a template, a sticker or card maker, or print on demand;
- sell the letterforms themselves, as an alphabet, a stamp set, a clip-art set or the like;
- use the Fonts or their letterforms to train or tune software that generates fonts or letterforms;
- remove or alter the copyright notice, the licence text or any identifier in the files.
Ask Gege for a separate written licence for anything in this list.
6. Identifiers
A copy of the Fonts may carry the name of its licensee and a licence number. If a copy bearing yours is found in circulation, Gege may treat that as a breach of this agreement by you.
7. Ownership
The Fonts are licensed, not sold. Gege keeps all rights in the Fonts, their design and their names. This agreement gives you no right to the names or marks of Gege.
Third-party notices for the software used to build the Fonts are in the NOTICE file supplied with them.
8. Updates and refunds
Gege may send corrections and updates to the Fonts you licensed, and is not obliged to. As the Fonts are delivered at once and cannot be returned, a payment is refunded only where the files are faulty and Gege cannot put that right, or where the law requires it.
9. Ending
Your licence ends at once if you break this agreement and do not put it right within 14 days of being told. When it ends you must stop using the Fonts and delete every copy. Finished work already published may stay published. Sections 5, 7, 10 and 11 continue.
10. No warranty, limited liability
The Fonts are supplied as they are. Gege does not promise that they suit a given purpose, or that they are shaped or laid out correctly by any particular software. To the extent the law allows, Gege's liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the licence, and Gege is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
11. Law
This agreement is governed by the law of Mongolia, and the courts of Ulaanbaatar decide any dispute. If a part of it cannot be enforced, the rest stands.
It is written in English. A Mongolian translation is given beside it for convenience; where the two differ, the English text decides.
